OPENING PRAYERS: "MINI" ROSARY (Jackie's special variation, Joyful Mysteries)

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary" (Lk 1:26-27).

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary...

And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, 'Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!' (Lk 1:41-42) Hail Mary...

Hail Mary...

And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. (Lk 2:7)

Hail Mary...

Hail Mary...

When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took [baby Jesus] to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord... (Lk 2:22)

Hail Mary...

Hail Mary...

They found [12 year old Jesus] in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers (Lk 2:46-47). Hail Mary...

Hail Mary...

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

SHARING OF OF FAVORITE MEMORIES: Everyone is most welcome to share

ALSO SHARING OF POEMS:

CIRCLE OF THE LEAF

I toss these leaves upon the wind,

till shined upon by New Moon's spirit…

Winter snows melt,

as spring rains come.

Magic is being performed,

transforming the forests of sleepy brown,

to living green.

To give beauty and shade, in summer heat.

Then comes the Autumn,

The leaves now turn to red and gold.

Die and fall gently to the ground.

Soon to decay, and fade away.

Then will come the sleeping winter,

with rain and snow.

The wind will blow.

But again new life awaits,

waiting beneath the blanket

of fallen leaves.

FLYING LESSONS

(in loving memory of Mom)

        You can fly!

         You can fly!

         You can fly!

         --Peter Pan

The Wing’s the thing, unspoken mantra of my Mother -–

sorrow hidden, this her balm. There’s the spoken mantras too:

Okay, Baby Angels, we need a mini-miracle.

Let your Guardian Angel talk to his Guardian Angel, they’ll work this conflict out.

If you ever see a frown, do not let it stay…

as to this restless soul a feather's brush.

Her hand on my forehead. Slow dawn

of soft smile, knowing,

Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly.

(Meanwhile, directions from Disney,

There it is... second star to the right and straight on till morning!

but digressing.) And remembering, night not so long ago.

I’m on the bed resting, stretching. Phone nestled by ear.

True confessions: Mom’s climb out of depression

just noticing the littlest of things. Magic's glow

tween thank and you — it got her through.

So now I’m telling you, floats her voice.

If after wings, your blessings sing -–

             The Wing's the thing.

*“If you ever see a frown…” adapted from Daniel Taylor's "Smiles", Angels can fly because… from G.K. Chesterson’s "Orthodoxy", Disney quotes from "Peter Pan".

PERMISSION TO LEAVE

What words might I say to all of you?

Are there any to help you heal?

Where in your mind seeks some comfort,

When pain is so deep and so real?

Do I say, "I am so very sorry;

I know you have suffered great loss?"

Or simply say, "I'll cry with you,"

As you bear this earthly cross.

Others will share this time with you;

And grieve for Jackie’s precious life gone.

They’ll mourn for the woman they knew and loved.

Though, recognizing life still goes on.

Yet, what is important to remember:

Hold-on to her memory…….strong.

For it is here in the depth of your being

You’ll find the strength to go on.

Take all her inspiration and remember

Her love, strength, laughter and smile.

Know her spirit will never leave you;

You’ll feel when she’s around for a while.

Live every day and treasure it,

Knowing she would want you to.

It doesn’t mean you’ll ever forget;

This was her expectation of you.

Thinking back to her final act of courage,

She hoped you all would believe

She was eternally grateful

You gave her, Permission To Leave

 From the heart,

Cousin Maureen Clary

SONG (one of Jackie's favorite hymns):

THAT OLD RUGGED CROSS

1 On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; and I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain.
Refrain: So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it some day for a crown.
2 O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me; for the dear Lamb of God left his glory above to bear it to dark Calvary. [Refrain]
3 In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me. [Refrain]
4 To that old rugged cross I will ever be true, its shame and reproach gladly bear; then he'll call me some day to my home far away, where his glory forever I'll share. [Refrain]

CLOSING PRAYER

Jackie,

our Mom, Sister, Friend,

we love you!

~~I~~

Amen!
